Korean songstress IU has been invited to perform at a top Japanese fashion show next month, according to her agency Loen Entertainment.
A PR official with Loen told 10Asia on Wednesday that IU will participate at Japan's Tokyo Girls Collection at the Yokohama Arena on March 3.
A number of K-pop artists and celebrities took part in the Tokyo Girls Collection in the past including After School's NaNa, 2PM, BEAST, 4minute, Park Shin-hye, Han Ji-hye and Park Hae-jin.
IU, whose real name is Lee Ji-eun, made her debut with her first mini-album "Lost and Found" in September 2008. She has since produced a number of hit songs such as "Boo," "Marshmallow" and "Nagging" with 2AM member Seulong.
She recently expanded her singing career to Japan after signing with EMI Music Japan in November of last year. She held her first showcase "IU JAPAN PREMIUM 'SPECIAL LIVE" last month which attracted some 4,000 fans to the event.
In the meantime, IU will release her first Japanese single "Good Day" on March 21 which will include the Japanese version of her songs "Good Day" and "Raindrop."
