2NE1 leads the way on Gaon's single chart with "Ugly"

Korean girl group 2NE1 led the way on Gaon's singles chart with their latest song during the first week of August.

According to Gaon's chart on Thursday, 2NE1's title track "Ugly," from their second mini-album, climbed up four spots to No. 1, knocking down previous winner miss A's "Good-bye Baby" to second place.

"Ugly," about a girl who believes she is not beautiful compared to other girls, is one of the six tracks to 2NE1's latest release which also includes past chart-toppers "Don't Cry," "Lonely," "Hate you," "I am the Best" and bonus tune "Don't Stop the Music."

Rounding out the top three was rap duo LeeSSang's latest song "Grand Final" featuring songstress Jung-in and MC Nalyoo.

Meanwhile, Super Junior's fifth full-length album "Mr. Simple" was named the most-popular record during the week of July 31 to August 6.

Following behind at the No. 2 spot was 2NE1's second mini-album and making an incredible 20 spot jump to No. 3 was boy band BEAST's first full-length album "Fiction and Fact."
