2NE1 wins No. 1 spot on Mnet's singles chart with "Ugly"

Four-member girl group 2NE1 won the No. 1 spot on Mnet's singles chart with their latest song during the first week of August.

According to Mnet's chart on Tuesday, 2NE1's "Ugly," from their second mini-album, jumped up four spots to first place, pushing their previous chart topper "Hate You" off the chart.

"Ugly," about a girl who believes she is not beautiful compared to other girls, is one of the six tracks to 2NE1's latest release which also includes past chart-toppers "Don't Cry," "Lonely," "Hate you," "I am the Best" and bonus tune "Don't Stop the Music."

Rap duo LeeSSang's latest song "Grand Final" placed in second after climbing up five spots from last week, followed sequentially by "Good-bye Baby" by miss A.

Meanwhile, the special album by MBC's "Infinite Challenge," containing songs by its casts and selected singers, made its way back to the No. 1 spot during the week of August 1 to 7.

Rounding out the top three was 2NE1's second mini-album and the seventh compilation album by top Korean artists for MBC's reality show "I'm a Singer" made an astonishing 57 spot jump to No. 3.
