Four-member girl group 2NE1 has taken over televised weekend music programs with their latest song "Ugly."
2NE1's new title track "Ugly," from their second mini-album, was named the most-popular song on KBS' "Music Bank" and SBS' "Inkigayo" during the first week of August.
"We want to thank everyone for the great memories and we want to extend our thanks to Yang Hyun-suk, the C.E.O. of YG Entertainment, and to our producer Teddy," 2NE1 leader CL said in their acceptance.
The girls continued to thank their managers as well as the Blackjacks [name of 2NE1's fans] before taking the stage for their encore performance.
"Ugly," about a girl who believes she is not beautiful compared to other girls, is one of the six tracks to 2NE1's latest release which also includes past chart-toppers "Don't Cry," "Lonely," "Hate you," "I am the Best" and bonus tune "Don't Stop the Music."
2NE1, formed of other members Park Bom, Sandara Park and Minzy, is known as one of the most popular girl groups since making their debut in May 2009.
The quartet will hold their first concert titled "NOLZA" at the Olympic Park Hall for three days starting August 26 and kick off their concert tour in Japan the following month.
