Korean songstress IU will sing at British singer Corinne Bailey Rae's concert next month.
The concert's promoter Nine Entertainment announced on Monday that IU has been chosen as the special guest performer for Corinne Bailey Rae's concert to be held at AX Korea Concert Hall on March 10.
"I was planning on watching the concert but it's such a great honor to be able to take the stage with Corinne Bailey Rae who has always been a role model for me," IU was quoted as saying.
"It's amazing to hear such soul in her voice at such a young age," Corinne Bailey Rae was quoted as saying after hearing IU's songs.
Meanwhile, Corinne Bailey Rae will release a special edition album "The Sea + The Love" this month which consists of her second album and remade songs of her favorite singers.
Corinne Bailey Rae released her self-titled debut album in February 2006 which features her hit songs "Like a Star," "Put Your Records On" and "I'd Like To."
She was nominated for the Grammy Awards and BRIT Awards several times and has won two MOBO Awards, for Best UK Female and Best UK Newcomer artist, and claimed prizes for best new act at the MOJO Awards and Q Awards.
IU, whose real name is Lee Ji-eun, made her debut with her first mini-album "Lost and Found" in September 2008. She has produced a number of hit songs including "Boo," "Marshmallow" and "Nagging" with 2AM member Seulong.
She has been promoting her latest album "Real" which has topped various online and offline music charts since its release in early December last year. The songstress is also starring in KBS' musical drama "Dream High."
