2NE1 recaptures No. 1 perch on Gaon single chart

Amid the ongoing popularity of love songs, 2NE1's buoyant "I LOVE YOU" has bobbed back to No. 1 on Gaon's weekly singles chart After being shoved under by SISTAR's "Loving You" in the first week of July, 2NE1 reclaimed the top spot with the cross-genre song of electronic and trot music last week, Gaon's website showed on Thursday. "I LOVE YOU" is the four divas' new single dropped on July 5 and has topped a number of international K-pop charts including Billboard K-Pop Hot 100 chart in the week of July 4 to 10.T-ara's "DAY BY DAY" followed next by climbing up a slot, while the former chart-topper SISTAR sat at No. 3 with "Loving U."Meanwhile, CNBLUE's Lee Jong-hyun entered the chart at No. 4 with "My Love," his song listed in the soundtrack to SBS' weekend TV series "Gentleman's Dignity."Sagging Snail, composed of comedian Yoo Jae-seok and singer Lee Juck, rounded out the top five with "Room Nallari," a retro tune written and composed by the duo.Other popular K-pop singles of the week include Busker Busker's "If You Really Love Me," Lee Hyun of 8eight's "My Heart Hurts," Juniel's "illa illa," December's "Unfinished" and Huh Gak's "One Person."In the meantime, it was a battle of boy bands on Gaon's album chart during the second week of July.Super Junior's sixth studio effort "Sexy, Free & Single," released on July 1, has maintained its spot atop the album chart for a second week in a row. 2PM member Jang Wooyoung's first mini-album "23, Male, Single" sat at the second spot, followed by ZE:A's sophomore album "SPECTACULAR."※ Any copying, republication or redistribution of 10Asia's content is expressly prohibited without prior consent of 10Asia.
