MBC “The King’s Doctor” has finally picked up its first win on the Monday and Tuesday primetime ratings chart since hitting the small screen on October 1.

The historical drama grabbed the top spot on the ratings chart during the third week of October with an average rating of 12.1 percent, according to data polled by TNmS [Total National Multimedia] Wednesday.

Helmed by director Lee Byung-hoon of epic drama “Jewel in The Palace” (MBC, 2003-2004), "The King's Doctor" has been drawing much attention from the audience by portraying a veterinarian named Baek Gwang-hyun [played by Cho Seung-woo] growing into a loyal doctor of the King in the Joseon Dynasty.

With a slight margin, last week’s winner KBS “Ohlala Couple” landed in the No. 2 spot after scoring 11.7 percent during the same period.

The Kim Jung-eun and Shin Hyun-joon starrer is serving up outbursts of laughter by whimsically depicting the soul change of a married couple, Ahn Soon-ae [played by Kim] and Nam Il-seok [played by Shin].

SBS’ historical fantasy “The Faith” sat in the last place by registering 10.0 percent of the total viewers this week.

In the meantime, AGB Nielson Media Research showed similar figures to the TNmS’ during the same period.

While “The King’s Doctor” dominated the chart with 11.7 percent, “Ohlala Couple” and “The Faith” followed next with 11.3 and 9.4 percent, respectively.
