“Gangnam Style” syndrome is reaching new heights as PSY began counting down to reaching 100 million views on YouTube.

PSY’s global hit music video for “Gangnam Style,” the title tune of PSY’s sixth studio album “Six Rules, Part. 1,” has scored 93,234,602 views on YouTube on September 3 at 1 p.m. KST.

Last Saturday, the jaw-dropping number logged by PSY has already broke the previous record set by Girls' Generation, who has grabbed the attention of over 83 million viewers with "Gee," and made PSY the first Korean artist to gather such a large crowd.

Heading to a whopping number of 100 million, the time period to reaching every next 10-million marks on YouTube has gotten shorter since the record was dropped on July 15.

Bringing more surprise to both Korean and overseas music fans, “Gangnam Style,” which first sat at No. 44 on iTunes Songs Chart on August 28, jumped up to No. 31 as of Monday at 1 p.m. KST.

PSY, born Park Jae-sang, made his local debut with the first album "Psy From the Psycho World" in 2001. He is well known for his hit songs "Bird," "Champion" and "Celebrity."

The 36-year-old singer is set to visit the United States again sometime in September to seal the deal with Hollywood-based agencies he was in negotiation with last month, his manager said in a press release Saturday.
