Jay from male duo group TRAX will star in a new daily drama set to premiere in May, according to the show's broadcaster KBS on Wednesday.
A press release posted on PR board of KBS’ official website today said that Jay will appear as a male lead to new KBS drama “Woori-jip Yeoja-deul” translated as “Women in Our House,” which will begin on May 16 following current series “Smile Again.”
Jay will play the heir to a conglomerate family in organic business who gets stripped of his privileges and has to start as a probationary employee in his company in line with his grandfather’s will.
Actress Jung Eun-chae will play the female lead who has various part-time jobs to make ends meet.
Helmed by producer Jeon Chang-geun and scenarist Yoo Yoon-kyung, the upcoming show will be a family drama that portrays into the love and work of six young people.
Other members of the cast will include Yoon Ah-jung, Choi Min-sung, Yoo So-young and Kang So-ra.
Jay, 28, whose real name is Kim Young-deok, debuted as a member to TRAX in 2004 with the single “Paradox.”
He took part in SM Entertainment’s ballad group S.M. The Ballad launched in 2010 and also played the main lead D’artagnan in the musical “The Three Musketeers" also staged the same year.

This is his second appearance in a TV series following KBS drama “PRESIDENT” which was aired from December last year to late February this year. He played the role of Yoo Min-ki, the hidden son of the presidential candidate Jang Il-joon, who quietly observes his father’s election campaign.
