2PM to celebrate one year since Japan debut with fan event

K-pop boy band 2PM will celebrate their one year anniversary since making their official debut in Japan with a fan event next week, according to their agency JYP Entertainment (JYPE). "2PM will meet with a number of fans for a high-five event at the International Exhibition Hall in the Makuhari Messe in Tokyo on December 8 to commemorate the date when they made their official debut in Japan," an official with JYPE told 10Asia over the phone on Thursday. Last November, 2PM's first DVD "Hottest~2PM 1st Music Video Collection & The History~,” containing their music videos released to date, as well as pictorials and never-before-seen past footage, went on sale in the country. It placed on Japan's prestigious Oricon chart and the boys held their first showcase "2PM 1ST CONTACT IN JAPAN" on December 8 which marked their debut in the country. The group has since released several Japanese singles including "Take Off," "I'm Your Man" and "Ultra Lover" and recently topped Oricon's daily chart with their first full-length Japanese album "Republic of 2PM." 2PM will soon kick off their first arena tour in Japan with their first stop in Osaka on December 5 followed by shows in Nippon, Tokyo and Fukuoka. ※ Any copying, republication or redistribution of 10Asia's content is expressly prohibited without prior consent of 10Asia.
