Baek Sung-hyun cast in historical drama

Korean actor Baek Sung-hyun has been cast in an upcoming historical drama, according to his agency Sidus HQ on Wednesday. A press release from Sidus said that Baek will play the role of Do Won-goon, the son of Soo-yang dae gun (Kim Young-ho) and Queen Jeong-hee (Kim Mi-sook), in JoongAng Ilbo's new general programming cable channel jTBC "Queen Insu" (tentative title) set to air this December. "Queen Insu," helmed by producer Lee Tae-gon, will revolve around Queen Sohye's life, the mother of Seongjong who was the ninth king of the Joseon Dynasty with her early years played by T-ara's Eunjung and the older Queen Sohye by actress Chae Si-ra. Baek made his first big appearance as the child version of actor Kwon Sang-woo's character in "Stairway to Heaven" (SBS, 2003) and has since appeared in series "Elephant" (MBC, 2008) and "The Accidental Couple" (KBS, 2009).
