Top K-pop group TVXQ! has enjoyed a pleasant surprise of their new tune being used on a popular American talk show.
Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan, the hosts of ABC’s famous morning talk show “Live! with Kelly & Michael," showed light dance moves to TVXQ!'s "Catch Me" while walking into the studio on October 1 in local time.
Taking many K-pop fans by surprise, it was not just unusual for a song that is yet to be promoted to play in the background of a TV program, but a shocker for a Korean-language tune to be used on an American talk show, except PSY's "Gangnam Style."
After the news broke out on domestic portals, many attributes the increased popularity of K-pop to PSY's sweeping the international music scene with "Gangnam Style" over the last three months.
In the meantime, the group is gearing up to show a series of comeback performances this week starting with Friday's KBS “Music Bank."
The popular duo will also appear on KBS' talk show "Do Dream" on Saturday to talk about their experiences of becoming one of the leading artists of the Korean wave.
