Korean-American actor Daniel Henney and actress Lee Da-hae may return to the small screen with "IRIS 2."
PR officials from their respective agencies confirmed on the phone Wednesday that Henny and Lee are mulling over to appear in the sequel to KBS' blockbuster TV series, "IRIS."
However, Taewon Entertainment, the Seoul-based production firm in charge, has not decided on which broadcaster it will air the show.
"Lee is currently looking over the sequel in a positive light though nothing has been set in stone," an official from Lee's agency Forestar Entertainment rep said.
If Henney signs on to appear in the second season of "IRIS," this will mark his return to the small screen in two to three years after starring in KBS' "Fugitive: Plan B" in 2010.
Just last month, an official from the production company told the magazine that they are in the process of renewing and refreshing the story, and expects to air the sequel sometime next year.
"IRIS," which aired back in 2009, stars some of the biggest names in the Korean entertainment industry including Kim Tae-hee, Jung Joon-ho, Kim So-yeon and Big Bang member T.O.P.
The espionage series dominated the primetime lineup during its run, between October 14 and December 17. Its viewership ratings had reached nearly 40 percent, and later turned into the film "IRIS: THE MOVIE" in 2010.
Born in Michigan to a Korean-American mother and an American father of British descent, the model-turned actor started his acting career here with MBC's TV series "My Name is Kim Sam Soon" in 2005.
