Korean solo artist PSY's "Gangnam Style" has remained the No. 1 song on Gaon's singles chart, proving to be an unstoppable force for three straight weeks.
“Gangnam Style,” the title track off of PSY's sixth full-length album "Six Rules, Part. 1," was the top song on Gaon's singles chart during the week of July 29 to August 4.
PSY's "Gangnam Style," which was released on July 15, has become an international sensation with its funny lyrics and dance moves.
The music video has gone viral and raked in 20 million views (as of August 9), while many international stars have raved about the tune and video.
Singing female duo Davichi's new ballad "Do Men Cry" made a splashing debut at No. 2 which pushed BoA's latest title track "Only One," from her seventh full-length album of the same name, to the No. 3 spot.
Other notable tunes on Gaon's singles chart include SISTAR's "Loving U," BEAST's "Beautiful Night," 2NE1's "I LOVE YOU," CNBLUE's Lee Jong-hyun's "My Love," PSY's "Passionate Goodbye," 4Men's Shin Yong-jae's "Over & Over" and T-ara's "Day By Day."
Over on Gaon's albums chart, boy band BEAST scored their second win with their fifth mini-album "Midnight Sun" during the same time frame.
Also maintaining its position from the previous week was BoA's seventh album "Only One" in second place and 2PM member Jang Wooyoung's first solo mini-album "23, Male, Single" jumped up three spots to third place.
