Korean singer PSY topped Gaon's singles chart last week, placing four of five tracks listed in his sixth mini-album in the top ten.
“Gangnam Style,” the title tune of PSY’s "Six Rules, Part. 1," earned the top seed on the chart in the third week of July, edging out singles by BEAST and 2NE1, Gaon’s website showed Thursday.
Enlisting talented artists such as G-Dragon of Big Bang, LeeSSang, and YB for the album that has already gone viral online, Psy has successfully broken his two-years hiatus with his six-times wittier album.
His "Passionate Goodbye,"which ballad singer Sung Si-kyung featured in, sat at No. 4.
With a pretty big gap with the No. 1, K-pop idol BEAST’s new single “Midnight,” a sentimental post-breakup song, landed at the second place.
The group is expecting to rank higher next week with their newly released mini-album "Midnight Sun."
Sitting at No. 3 is 2NE1, the last week’s chart-topper who returned to the music scene early this month with the cross-genre song of electronic and trot music, "I LOVE YOU."
Additionally, T-ara’s “Day By Day,” the title track of the girls’ mini-album of the same name, took the fifth place.
Other songs in the top ten are CNBLUE's Lee Jong-hyun’s drama soundtrack "My Love," Brown Eyed Girl’s newest single “One Summer Night,” SISTAR's summer tune "Loving You," and PSY’s other new tracks “Tree Frog” and “Seventy Seven 101.”
Over on the album chart, Super Junior kept their third-week reign with “Sexy, Free & Single" during the same time frame.
Following behind the 13-member group is PSY’s sixth mini-album, and 2PM member Jang Wooyoung's first solo mini-album "23, Male, Single" came next at No.3.
