Korean girl group Rainbow member Kim Jae-kyung will make her debut as an actress as the female lead in an upcoming TV series set to air on JoongAng Ilbo's general programming cable channel jTBC.
A press release from jTBC said on Wednesday that Kim will play a character name Na Yu-mi in jTBC's drama "Monster," opposite actor Kwon Se-in, which will hit the small screen on March 31.
“Her sexy look on stage and playful character on various variety programs fit perfectly with the qualities that we were looking for someone to play Na," an official was quoted as saying in the statement.
Kim made her debut one of the main vocalists in girl group Rainbow -- composed of other members Oh Seung-a, Koh Woo-ri, No Eul, Jung Yoon-hye, Kim Ji-sook and Cho Hyun-young -- in 2009.
The girls have been focusing on their singing activities in Japan after they found success in the country with their debut single "A" which placed atop the prestigious Oricon chart in September of last year.
