Korean female idol Hyun-a of 4minute and girl group 2NE1 have made popular U.S' SPIN Magazine's list for favorite pop tracks of this year, according to its official website on Wednesday.
SPIN's website revealed that Hyun-a's title track "Bubble Pop!," from her second solo album of the same name, was No. 3 on its Favorite Pop Tracks of 2011 list, following behind international artists Adele and Beyonce.
The magazine described the song as "Ooh ooh ooh ooh! + a seizure-inducing dupstep breakdown." The dance tune had already come in ninth place on their Best 20 Songs of 2011 list earlier this month.
Meanwhile, 2NE1 also made SPIN's favorite pop track list with their song "I Am the Best" which took the No. 8 spot. The quartet also ranked in sixth place on their top best album's of 2011 with their second mini-album.
Hyun-a, 19, started out in the local music scene as a member of Wonder Girls but departed from the group due to health issues. She later returned as the lead rapper and vocalist of 4minute in 2009 with their debut single "Hot Issue."
2NE1, formed of members CL, Park Bom, Sandara Park and Minzy, made their debut in May 2009 after being discovered and trained by major talenthouse YG Entertainment.
The girls have created a splash overseas, being picked as the best band of the year by MTV's IGGY, working with Black Eyed Peas member will.i.am on their U.S. debut album as well as having their song "I Am the Best" named as one of the best singles in 2011 by U.S. Slant Magazine.
