Korean female idols Girls' Generation, KARA and duo TVXQ have landed within the top 20 spots of Oricon's annual album and singles sales chart, according to its official website on Monday.

Oricon's album chart showed that Girls' Generation came in fifth place after selling 642,054 units of their first Japanese album "GIRLS' GENERATION" and took 42nd place with "Hoot" which sold 148,761 copies.

The singles chart revealed that the nine-member girl group came in 46th place with their single "MR. TAXI/RUN DEVIL RUN" which sold 172,205 copies.

In the meantime, KARA's second full-length Japanese album "Super Girl" took the No. 7 spot after moving 450,595 units and took 22nd place with "Girl's Talk" which sold 277,306 copies.

KARA also placed in 25th and 26th place, respectively, with "GO GO SUMMER" and "Roller Coaster Love."

Oricon's album chart reported that TVXQ landed at the No. 20 spot with their record "Tone" which sold over 290,000 copies and placed in 16th and 41st place, respectively, on the singles chart with "Why (Keep Your Head Down)" and "Superstar."

Hallyu star Jang Keun-suk also made the list with his Japanese single "Let Me Cry" which sold 215,714 copies to score the No. 29 spot.

Girls' Generation, one of the most successful girl groups in Korea, expanded their career into Japan in September last year and had since released several Japanese singles and held their nationwide Japanese tour.

KARA, composed of members Gu Hara, Han Seung-yeon, Park Gyu-lee, Kang Ji-young and Nicole, is currently one of the most successful Korean girl groups to break into the Japanese market.

TVXQ, composed of Max Changmin and U-Know Yunho, will embark on a three month long nationwide tour in Japan where they will hold a total of 14 shows in nine cities including Yokohama, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Niigata, Sapporo, Fukui, Osaka and Tokyo.

Jang has been popular in Japan since starring in 2009 drama "He's Beautiful" which has been remade in the country and he has led a successful singing career there as well.

He is currently working on a new TV series "Love Rain" (translated title) opposite Girls' Generation member Yoona.
