Korean action pic "The Kick" was presold to 36 countries at this year's Cannes film market, according to the movie's promoter Showbox on Tuesday.
Showbox announced in a press release that "The Kick" was sold to 36 countries including France, Hong Kong, Germany, Turkey, India and Taiwan at the film market held during the 64th annual Cannes Film Festival in May.
An official with Showbox told 10Asia over the phone that "The Kick" will open sometime next month in France, Hong Kong, Germany, Turkey and India while making its will make its premiere in Taiwan this December.
"The schedule for the showings may change however since we are still in discussions on the premiere dates for the other countries," the official added.
"The Kick," starring actor Jo Jae-hyun and actress Ye Ji-won, tells the story about a Korean family of Taekwondo experts that immigrate to Thailand.
The film, helmed by Prachaya Pinkaew who is famous for his martial arts movie "Ong Bak," will open in local theaters on November 3.
