September 21 has been confirmed as the date Korean girl group 2NE1 will release their debut album in Japan.
The news was delivered on Friday through 2NE1's official Japanese website, managed by the girls' Japan agency Avex Entertainment which is in charge of the singing career of several K-pop artists in the country including TVXQ and BoA.
The record itself will be a mini-album, released in three formats, and a total of three songs, one at a time, will be unveiled from the album every 21 days starting July 20, the website for the prestigious Oricon chart additionally reported the same day.
"I am the Best" will be the first song the girls will reveal, through RecoChoku, which is Japan's largest mobile music provider and chart.
The girls are currently promoting the song in Korea and is set to be one of the tracks to their Korea mini-album set for release on July 21.
Hence 2NE1, formed of members Park Bom, CL, Sandara Park and Minzy, will soon make their long-waited debut in Japan -- it was supposed to be in March but got pushed back following the devastating earthquake that month.
