2NE1 topples 2PM off top of Gaon singles chart

Korean girl group 2NE1 pushed 2PM off the top of Gaon's singles chart with their latest song "I am the Best" during the week of June 26 to July 2.

"I am the Best," the third single from 2NE1's upcoming mini-album, climbed up three spots to first place pushing 2PM's latest tune "Hands Up" to No. 2, while T-ara's new retro song "Roly-Poly" made its debut in third place.

2NE1's "I am the Best" has dominated various online music charts since its release on June 24, while the song will be released in the girls' upcoming mini-album which will go on sale on July 21.

On the albums chart, 2PM's second full-length release "HANDS UP" held onto its position at No. 1 for its second consecutive win.

Rounding out the top three albums during the final week of June were girl group T-ara's latest release "John Travolta Wannabe" and singer Min Kyung-hoon's second full-length record "Picnic" in second and third place, respectively.
