Korean idol Kim Hyung-jun of boy band SS501 held his solo showcase for the release of his first mini-album over the weekend with over 500 local and international fans in attendance.

Kim kicked off his showcase held in Seoul, South Korea on March 5 with the newly arranged version of the song "Girl" from his upcoming album titled "My Girl" and ballad song "Heaven" which he took part in composing.

"I helped compose and arrange two tracks for the album,” Kim said as he went on to explain that his album features songs that individuals can relate to on the subject of love.

"I want to thank all my fans for coming to my showcase and showing their support. In the past, I hadn't felt so lonely since I was on stage with the other members of my group so even though I am scared and nervous standing here... this will be a new challenge for me."

The showcase continued with a question and answer session where Kim spoke about starring in musical "Cafe In" and hosting his radio show with a special guest appearance by fellow SS501 member Park Jung-min.

"I came to show my support for Kim Hyung-jun just like he did for my showcase last month," Park said, displaying his close friendship with Kim. "I wish the best for him and I know that his album will be great as well."

Kim then took the stage once again to sing "No Other Girl Besides You" and revealed his music video for the title track "oH aH" for the first time ever while closing the showcase with the performance of the song.

Kim, 23, made his debut as one of the members of popular boy band SS501 in 2005, producing several hit songs such as “Warning,” “My Girl,” “Love Ya” and “Love Like This.” After the group's contract with DSP Media expired, he signed with S-Plus Entertainment in August 2010.

He is set to make a comeback to the local music scene with the release of his first mini-album "My Girl," featuring a total of 5 tracks, on March 8 and begin promoting "oH aH" on various televised music programs till the end of March.

Kim, who signed with major Japanese recording company AVEX in January, will then officially kick off his activities in Japan next month, releasing his album in early April, making appearances on various entertainment programs as well as holding concerts in the country.
