Just a day before kicking off the long-awaited world tour in Seoul, 2NE1 has made a surprising announcement that they are cancelling the scheduled release of this year's second single on Saturday."2NE1 was planning to drop the second single on Saturday, the first day of their global tour. But we've decided to call it off as we were concerned about their deteriorating physical conditions when promoting the new single and holding the tour at the same time," YG officials said in a press release Friday. The "I AM THE BEST" singers are the first K-pop female acts of all-time to host a worldwide tour. The large-scale tour, dubbed "NEW REVOLUTION," will kick off with the Seoul leg at the Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium on July 28 and 29. The girls will then take the show to meet their overseas fans in Asia, North America, South America and Europe but their final itinerary has yet to be announced. The popstresses' large-scale show is armed with some of the top musicians and performance directors that have worked with A-list artists such as Janet Jackson, Lady Gaga and Usher, to name a few.In the meantime, 2NE1's "I LOVE YOU," which became available online on July 5, is faring well on various music charts online including Gaon's weekly singles chart.Debuting at No.2 on Gaon's singles chart during the first week of July, it instantly rose as a chart-topper the next week. In the third week of July, the hit song slid down back to No. 2, beaten out by new entry Psy's "Gangnam Style."※ Any copying, republication or redistribution of 10Asia's content is expressly prohibited without prior consent of 10Asia.
