DJ DOC's hit songs to be performed as musical in Japan

Korean hip-hop group DJ DOC will be taking their self-produced musical to Japan.DJ DOC's "Street Life," which has a slew of their number one hits plotted into a story, will open at the Shochiku-za Theater in Osaka from October 6 to November 4, their agency Bound Sound said in a press release Thursday.With member Lee Ha-neul on th project as the musical producer, the story of three young men and their passion for music was already staged in Korea in June last year."Street Life," also the title of the trio's second single album dropped in 2003, features 22 of the trio's songs all in Korean with Japanese subtitles provided."Though the group has never pursued their activities in the country, their songs have been pretty popular in Japan. The agency we're partnered with right now have been offering us the chance (to put up the show in Japan) since a while ago," a Bound Sound official said in the statement.Trio DJ DOC is one of the earliest and most popular hip-hop groups in Korea debuted in 1994. The group has produced a plethora of hit songs including "Summer Story," "Dance with DOC," "Run To You," "Street Life," "One Night" and "I'm a Person Like That."
