Boy group BEAST sold the most number of albums in Korea during the month of May. According to the nation’s biggest record sales chart Hanteo, BEAST came out the winner on the monthly sales chart with their first regular album "Fiction and Fact," release on May 17, only about two weeks before the final estimates were announced.The limited version of the record, released a week later, reached the fourth place on the same chart. On the real-time chart, BEAST grabbed the No. 1 spot with the regular edition of their album and the No. 3 spot with its limited version. BEAST has been claiming the winning trophies on live music programs as well, including music cable channel Mnet’s weekly show “M! CountDown” with the album’s title track “Fiction” for two consecutive weeks and once on public broadcaster KBS’ Friday show “Music Bank” with the ballad “On Rainy Days,” also included in the album. Composed of members Du-jun, Hyun-seung, Yo-seop, Dong-woon, Gi-kwang and Jun-hyung, BEAST made their debut in October 2009 with their first mini-album “"BEAST IS THE B2ST" and has since produced hit songs such as “Bad Girl,” “Shock" and “Soom.” The group advanced to the Japanese market earlier this year with their debut single “SHOCK” which placed second on Japan’s Oricon weekly chart in mid-March as well as having the ringtone version of the song top the daily singles chart of Japan’s biggest mobile website RecoChoku on the day of its release on March 16.
