TVXQ!’s U-Know Yunho to Star in SBS’ New Drama alongside Kwone Sang-woo, Soo-ae

Korean pop duo TVXQ!’s U-Know Yunho will be teaming up with Hallyu stars Kwone Sang-woo and Soo-ae in an upcoming drama to be aired next January on SBS.

SM Entertainment said in a statement Tuesday that the “Catch Me” singer will take part in the new Monday and Tuesday primetime drama series on SBS, “Yawang".

The singer-actor will play an ice hockey player who has a relationship with Soo-ae in the new drama adapted from Korean cartoonist Park In-kwon's 21-part comic book "The President."

“We cast Yunho as we believe his chiseled looks, bold eyes and soft smile will perfectly match the character,” an official from the show’s production company explained.

“Yawang” will pivot around an ambitious woman who strives to escape from her poverty-stricken background to become the first lady and a man who gives up everything for the woman he loves.

Helmed by producer Cho Nam-kook of "THE CHASER", the SBS hit series from 2012, the forthcoming drama will air as a follow-up to the ongoing SBS TV series “THE LORD OF THE DRAMA.”
