Korean idol trio JYJ has won a commendation from South Korean government.
JYJ was awarded by the Minister of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy at the opening ceremony of the 2012 Korea Brand & Entertainment Expo (KBEE 2012) held in Osaka, Japan on Thursday, according to the group’s agency C-JeS Entertainment’s press release.
The three-member group could grab the prize because they have been successfully introducing Korean culture through the world by gathering about 210,000 fans with their world tour which was held in 15 cities from last year to earlier this year, officials from C-JeS explained.
“We were so happy to learn through our concerts and fan fairs that there were many who loved our music and Korea. This award is very meaningful to us and we will repay our fans with better group activities,” JYJ members said during the acceptance speech.
Nowadays JYJ members have been keeping busy with pursuing their individual activities.
Park Yuchun has starred in MBC’s ongoing Wednesday and Thursday primetime TV series “Missing You” [tentative title], while Kim Jae-joong has been promoting his screening debut film “Jackal is Coming” which was released on last Thursday.
Meanwhile, Kim Junsu is set to hit the Germany leg for his European tour set to be held at Turbinenhalle in Oberhausen, Germany on November 30, officials added.
