Yoon Eun-hye’s short film will be screened at the forthcoming Busan International Film Festival [BIFF].
Yoon’s directorial debut pic “The Knitting” has officially been invited to the Korean Short Film Competition, a subdivision of Wide Angle category at the 17th BIFF, which will open in Busan, Korea between October 4 and 13.
Yoon’s first film project as a director tells the story about a woman who finds an unfinished knitting work and begins to feel the accumulated emotions and memories inside.
The “Goong” star expressed her gratitude on her official Twitter account on Monday.
"I have a long way to go but this is what I've done to further develop as an actress.. I'm thankful to have this opportunity, yet shy at the same time. I have so much more to improve but I hope you guys enjoy my work," she wrote.
Organizers said the actress worked on the film while she was learning about the films and multimedia at Chungang University's graduate school early this year.
Yoon made her debut as a member of the Korean girl group Baby VOX in 1997 and later expanded her career into acting after the group disbanded.
She has since starred in a number of hit TV series such as "The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince" (MBC, 2007) alongside Gong Yoo, "My Fair Lady" (KBS, 2009) opposite actor Jung Il-woo and most recently in "Lie to me" with Kang Ji-hwan.
