K-pop ballad group 2AM will serve as promotional ambassadors at the upcoming DMZ Korean International Documentary Film Festival [DMZ Docs 2012].
The quartet has been chosen as the promotional ambassadors for the 4th annual festival, which will take place at Paju in Gyeonggi Province, Korea from September 21 to 27, the organizers announced in a press release on Monday.
“2AM’s active and friendly image will lessen the stiff and boring image of documentary pics and the Korean Demilitarized Zone. The group perfectly suits the goal we're pursuing this year: to better communicate with the general audience," actor and DMZ Docs 2012 chief organizer Jo Jae-hyun was quoted as saying.
From the appointment ceremony to be held during the event's press conference in Seoul on August 30, organizers said the "This Song" singers will begin their duty as promotional ambassadors.
DMZ Docs, one of the annual documentary film festivals here, was established in 2009 to shed light on the peaceful period of the DMZ in the past, the area that serves as a buffer zone between the North and South.
This is not the first time to promote a film festival for member Seulong, who served as a promotional ambassador of this year’s Jeonju International Film Festival [JIFF] with actress Son Eun-seo.
The members are well known for many hit ballad songs including "Can't Let You Go Even If I Die," "I Did Wrong," and their debut single "This Song."
Since the release of their latest album in March "F.Scott Fitzgerald`s Way Of Love," the four members have been busy with solo activities as singers, actors and guest stars on variety shows on TV.
