Korean singer PSY, who is famous for his comic performance and music videos, has revealed his thoughts on the music videos and concerts of K-pop stars.

The 36-year-old artist, earning international fame with his smash hit tune “Gangnam Style,” told the magazine during an interview, which took place at Seoul’s Jamsil Sports Complex a few hours before his sold-out concert "Summer Stand," on August 11.

“These days all those music videos are so similar, packaged to sparkle in several fancy sets. My goal is to give joy from the beginning to the end, which is why we went around 35 different spots to shoot my music video. The whole procedure was almost like making a Hollywood blockbuster movie,” the songwriter spoke up critically.

However, the concert master also said that, “I feel good about today's idols staging impressive concerts. I felt that idol stars' concerts were only for their groupies in the past but nowadays their shows are well-prepared and it seems like they have established themselves as singers. I hope to see them more in action at their concerts.”

PSY, born Park Jae-sang, made his local debut with the first album "Psy From the Psycho World" in 2001. He is well known for his hit songs "Bird," "Champion" and "Celebrity."

His newest tune, “Gangnam Style” became a huge syndrome after its comic music video went viral while hitting over 26.8 million views on YouTube on August 13, being nicknamed as “the second Macarena.”

The video has been receiving a flooding response abroad after being mentioned by international celebrities online and American news outlets’ coverage, such as The Huffington Post, CNN, and The Wall Street Journal.
