Former F.CUZ member LeeU was belatedly known to have signed an exclusive contract with Block B's agency, Brand New Stardom.
"LeeU signed with Brand New Stardom sometime last month. One of the key factors in signing the deal was that he showed outstanding talents as a producer," an official from the firm told 10Asia over the phone on Monday.
The rep added that LeeU also has great vocal abilities and will undergo the company's training process, though they are still in discussions on how and when he will kick off his solo activities officially.
LeeU, whose real name is Lee Seung-hyun, is well-known for being born to legendary trot singer Sul Woon-do and former actress Lee Su-jin.
Following his parents' career in the industry, LeeU made his debut as a member of F.CUZ in January 2010 with their first single, "Jiggy." However, he made the decision to leave the group in May 2011 to pursue his solo singing career.
