Korean idol and actor Park Yuchun of boy band JYJ was belatedly known to have been involved in a car accident.
"On the way to SBS' 'Rooftop Prince' shooting set, Park got in a car accident on April 26. His van hit a truck and the front bumper was smashed," an official from his agency C-JeS Entertainment told 10Asia over the phone on Wednesday.
Despite the car crash, Park finished shooting his scenes in "Rooftop Prince" and attended the 48th Paeksang Arts Awards the following day.
"Park complained about neck and back pains but he insisted on pushing back medical examinations to take responsibility to his activities," the rep said, adding that they have scheduled a thorough medical checkup on a later date.
Park returned to the local music scene as trio group JYJ in October 2010. He expanded his career into acting and starred in KBS' series "SungKyunKwan Scandal" and his second drama "Miss Ripley."
He is currently playing the Joseon Dynasty's Crowned Prince Lee Gak in SBS' "Rooftop Prince," which tells time-transcending characters adjusting to the modern society in 2012.
