Girls' Generation will be turned into cartoon characters this time, along with other major K-pop groups in an upcoming comic strip in Korea and Japan.
The "Gee" stars will make an appearance in "ENT.," which goes around the story of a scriptwriter named Yeo Woo-byul finding about secrets of talent agency SM Entertainment and writing fictional stories online based on those confidential events, according to the YLAB officials on Tuesday.
With the girls, ballad and dance duo TVXQ! and hit makers Super Junior will also appear as cartoon characters in the webtoon.
While the Japanese version of "ENT." will be released in black and white on popular Japanese cartoon website Club Sunday on May 30, Korean fans will get an access to the Korean version through the local portal website Naver on July 4, the officials said.
The firm noted that the series is being produced by writer Yoon In-wan of "The New Secret Royal Commissioner," but the profile of the cartoon's writer will be revealed on a later date.
Girls' Generation -- composed of Taeyeon, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Sunny, Jessica, Seohyun, Yoona, Sooyoung and Yuri -- splashed into the K-pop mainstream with "Into the New World" in 2007.
The group expanded their career into Japan in September 2010 and has since released several Japanese singles.
As a part of their activities outside the nine-member group, Girls' Generation's trio unit group-- formed of Tiffany, Seohyun and Taeyeon--will roll out their first album "TWINKLE" on Wednesday.
