Musical "Wicked" actresses Jemma Rix, Suzie Mathers to hold fan meeting in Seoul

Musical actresses Jemma Rix and Suzie Mathers of the Tony Award-winning musical "Wicked" will hold a fan meeting in Seoul next week.

An official with the show's local promoter Seol&Company said that Rix and Mathers will meet with selected fans at MCube in Seoul on April 25.

"After completing their shows in other Asian countries, the two actresses decided that they wanted to meet with their fans in Seoul (before they go on putting the shows on stage in the country)," the rep explained, adding that they will hold a question and answer session and sing several songs from the world-famous musical.

Adopted from a novel of the same name by Gregory Maguire, the musical version of "Wicked" features songs composed and written by Stephen Schwartz and lines written by scriptwriter Winnie Holzman.

The musical tells the story of two witches from the Land of Oz, green-skin witch Galinda and blonde, popular witch Glinda . It shows how the two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch of the North.

The Broadway production has won three Tony Awards and garnered six Drama Desk Awards and one Grammy Award. The global hit musical also claims the title of the 12th longest-running Broadway show in history.

The Broadway's smash hit "Wicked" will open its curtains at Blue Square in Seoul on May 31.
