Three-member band Busker Busker proved their belting strengths as an indie band with their first studio album charting big on Gaon's weekly charts during the first week of April.
Gaining public recognition by becoming the final contestants on cable channel Mnet's audition program "Superstar K3" last year, Busker Busker's debut album, of which all 11 tracks are composed and written by the frontman Jang Beom-june, dominated the top three on the singles chart and sat atop the album chart between April 1 and 7, the website showed on Thursday.
The band's title track "Cherry Blossom Ending" rose two slots from the week before and grabbed the top seed, while the same album's "First Love" soared to the No. 2 spot from No. 13, followed by "Yeosu Night Sea" at No. 3.
Huh Gak, who also made his debut after appearing in the same audition program's season 2, ranked at fourth place with his title "A Someone Who Loved Me," from his second mini-album "LACRIMOSO."
Rounding up the top five, Girls' Generation's member Taeyeon's "Missing You Like Crazy" from MBC's "The King 2Hearts" soundtrack, slid down three spots to sit at No. 5.
On the album chart during the same week, Busker Busker's breakthrough debut album, without a doubt, nabbed the top place on Gaon's album chart.
SHINee's fourth mini-album "Sherlock" stayed in the second place and new K-pop group BTOB's first single "Born TO Beat" made its debut in the chart at No. 3.
Meanwhile, despite its considerably high sales record in the week of its release, rock band CNBLUE's third mini-album "EAR FUN" dropped three spots to place at No. 4.
