Korean female idol T-ara member Eunjung has suffered a major injury to her left knee, according to her agency Core Contents Media on Thursday.
The pop idol slipped on an icy street after heading home from choreography practice for "Lovey-Dovey" last night and was rushed to the hospital for an emergency check up and x-rays.
She visited the hospital for another thorough check up today and received a joint aspiration procedure to remove blood from her ruptured left patella tendon in her knee.
Doctors have advised Eunjung to wear a cast on her knee and will need about six weeks to fully recover. She will also have to visit the hospital on multiple occasions to receive physical therapy for her knee.
Core Contents explained that they will reschedule Eunjung's upcoming activities depending on the progress of her recovery.
Having made her debut as a child actor in the early 1990s, Eunjung has appeared in various roles including SBS TV series "Coffee House" (2010), KBS' music drama "Dream High" (2011) and films "Death Bell" (2008) and "White" (2011).
