Korean songstress IU and duo unit Trouble Maker, composed of 4minute's Hyun-a and BEAST's Hyun-seung, were awarded with wins on televised music shows over the weekend.
IU beat out female idols Girls' Generation on KBS' Friday music program "Music Bank" for her fifth consecutive win for her pop tune "YOU&I" from her second studio album "Last Fantasy."
"I can't believe that this is my fifth win because it feels like just yesterday that I gave my comeback performance. I thank my family, my fans and everyone at my agency," IU said in her acceptance speech.
IU, whose real name is Lee Ji-eun, claimed the top spot on all online music charts with her title track "You&I" upon its release on November 29.
On Sunday, Trouble Maker received the Mutizen Award during their last appearance on SBS' "Inkigayo."
"We thank all the fans for granting us this win since today is our last appearance as a duo and we will return as a better unit," Trouble Maker's Hyun-a said in their acceptance speech.
Hyun-a and Hyun-seung have enjoyed success as a duo, scoring several wins on televised music programs as well as topping online music charts since their song's release on December 1.
