Singer Eun Ji-won will appear on MBC's "Come to Play" starting next week, returning to the talk show for the first time in three years.

A press release by his agency GYM Entertainment said on Monday that Eun recorded two weeks worth of broadcasting material for the show on December 28 of last year which will go on air starting January 9.

Eun had been a supporting host for "Play" from 2007 to 2009 but quit the position to focus on his singing career.

With Eun back, it seems that producers will be hoping for a boost in ratings with the singer who has also proven to be witty and humorous through a number of other entertainment shows including KBS' "Two Nights and One Day."

"Play," hosted by top TV personalities Yoo Jae-suk and Kim Won-hee, was once one of the most popular shows in the country and hit a high in mid-2010, but is now the least-watched talk show amongst its competitors "Hello" (KBS) and "Healing Camp" (SBS) which emerged in the same time slot starting later the same year.

Eun, 33, debuted in 1997 as the leader and rapper of six-member boy band Sechs Kies, who quickly became one of the most prominent groups during the late 1990s.

He embarked on a solo career after the group disbanded in 2000, releasing several hip-hop records and branching out to other activities such as acting and appearing in various television shows.
