Cast of MBC's "Sun" hold 1st script reading

Cast of upcoming historical series "The Moon Bearing the Sun" (translated title) [MBC]

The entire cast of an upcoming MBC TV series held their first script reading over Christmas weekend, according to a press release from the major broadcaster on Tuesday.

MBC unveiled photos of the main cast Han Ga-in, Kim So-hyun, Jung Il-woo, Kim You-jung, Yeo Jin-gu and Kim Min-seo taking part in the session for historical series "The Moon Bearing the Sun" (translated title) held in Ilsan on December 25.

"I felt that the script was really fun and thought a lot on how to act out my character named Yeon-woo," Han said in the statement while Kim expressed his excitement in taking on his first historical series.

"Sun," based on the novel of the same name by writer Jung Eun-gwol who wrote the original novel for hit KBS TV series "SungKyunKwan Scandal," tells the story of Yeon-woo a female shaman who falls in love with Lee Hwon (Kim) the imaginary king of the Joseon Dynasty.

The show will take over the Wednesday and Thursday primetime lineup starting January 4 of next year.
