Korean idol Taeyang of boy band Big Bang and girl group 2NE1 will perform at an upcoming fashion show in Japan next month, according to the event's official website on Tuesday.
The website revealed that Taeyang and 2NE1 have been invited to take the stage for the prestigious 'GirlsAward by CROOZ 2011 Autumn / Winter' fashion show which will take place at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo on November 12.
"The theme for this year's fashion show is adventure and we feel that Taeyang and 2NE1 both fit that image with their music and style," an official with the show was quoted as saying.
Previous performers for the GirlsAward fashion show include JYJ's Kim Junsu, Girls' Generation and 4minute.
Taeyang is the first Big Bang member to debut as a solo artist with his first mini-album "HOT" in May 2008. He has since produced several hit songs such as "Prayer," "Where U At," "Look Only at Me" and "Wedding Dress."
He also released his first full-length album "Solar" in July last year which topped various local online and offline music sites as well as Apple's iTunes music chart.
2NE1, formed of members Park Bom, CL, Sandara Park and Minzy, is one of the most popular girl groups since making their debut in May 2009.
The girls have been focusing on their singing activities in Japan and released their first mini-album in September.
