Girl group f(x) member Luna and boy band SS501 member Kim Kyu-jong have been cast in an upcoming TV series which will mark their acting debut.
A press release by promoter Group 8 said on Monday that the two will appear in a 36-part weekend drama titled "Go! Mrs. Go!" set to show on Chosun Ilbo's new general programming cable channel CSTV at the end of this year.
"Go!" will tell of how a woman named Go Bong-shil, in her fifties, moves to Seoul after losing her husband and becomes a best-selling author.
Veteran actress Kim Hae-sook of famed Korean auteur Park Chan-wook's Cannes Award-winning pic "Thirst" will play Go Bong-shil while Luna will take on the role of Go's troublemaker second daughter, also an arts student, named Seo In-young and Kim an aspiring musical actor named Nicky.
Luna, 18, made her debut as one of the lead vocalists for girl group f(x) in 2009 and has appeared in musicals including "Legally Blonde" and "Coyote Ugly."
Kim, 24, made his debut as a member of boy band SS501 and while leading a solo singing career as well, recently starred in musical "Goong."
