Super Junior Hangeng drops case against SM Hangeng [SM Entertainment]

Super Junior member Hangeng has dropped a lawsuit through which he had demanded his contract with agency SM Entertainment to be terminated.

The Seoul High Court said on Sunday that Hangeng, 27, withdrew the suit through his legal representative Hankyul Hanul on September 21.

The only Chinese member of the highly successful K-pop group had taken action in late 2009 after being restricted from pursuing individual activities and failing to agree with how his agency works.

Then at a first trial last December, a court deemed that all contracts the singer had signed with SM are no longer valid and SM had filed an appeal to the ruling.

"Hangeng withdrew his case because he acknowledged he has an exclusive contract with SM and for the time being, he will specialize in China," SM said in response to Hangeng's latest move.

This means Hangeng will continue with his singing and acting career in China which he led even after taking action against SM.

However, SM did not state whether he would resume with his activities as a member of Super Junior through which he debuted in 2005.

Hangeng had also been part of Super Junior-M -- a popular sub-unit of Super Junior which focuses their activities in the Chinese market.
