Korean actor Ji Jin-hee has finished shooting an upcoming Chinese film, according to his agency fantagio.

On Monday, fantagio announced in a press release that Ji, who played the male lead role of Ju-hwan, recently completed filming the Chinese drama tentatively titled "On the Way" which will open in local theaters early next year.

"On the Way" tells the story of Ju-hwan (Ji) who by chance falls in love with a Chinese woman (played by Chinese actress Eva Huang) on a train while traveling in China to forget his past lover.

The film also stars Korean actress Cha Soo-yeon who plays his wife named Eun-yeon.

"It was hard since we shot the movie traveling back and forth from Korea and China but I feel like I was able to pull off my role thanks to the help from my co-stars and production staff," Ji was quoted as saying.

Ji rose to fame for his role in "Jewel in the Palace" in 2003 and has starred in the Hong Kong film "Perhaps Love".

He has appeared in a number of TV series such as “Miss Kim’s Adventures in Making a Million (2004),” “Spotlight (2008),” “The Man Who Can't Get Married (2009)," and films “The Old Garden (2007),” “Bewitching Attraction (2006)” “Soo (2007)” and “Parallel Life (2009).”
