SBS primetime drama “Lie To Me” has been exported to eight countries in Asia, according to the public broadcaster on Thursday.
The official website of SBS revealed that “Lie To Me,” currently airing in Korea every Mondays and Tuesdays, has been sold to China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia, with buyers from Europe also considering the purchase.
An official at SBS Contents Hub attributed the sales to the drama's unique story line, the attractive main leads Yoon Eun-hye and Kang Ji-hwan who are both Hallyu stars and it being produced by director Kim Soo-ryeong.
Kim won the Platinum Remi award under the category of TV special-dramatic with "Father’s Home" at the 44th annual Houston International Film Festival.
The 16-part series starring Yoon and Kang as the main leads, is a romantic comedy about a couple who, after being entangled in a marriage scandal that began with a small lie, ends up falling in love with each other while trying to clear up the mess.
The show premiered on May 9 and will end its run on July 5.
