MBC’s romantic comedy “The Greatest Love” starring Cha Seung-won and Kong Hyo-jin came out a winner on the Wednesdays and Thursdays primetime chart for a second consecutive week, according to results shown by two media research companies on Friday.
“The Greatest Love,” about love between a top-class actor and a former idol star against the backdrop of show business, posted average viewership ratings of 14.1 percent on Total National Multimedia Statistics’ (TNmS) chart and 18.1 percent on AGB Nielsen Media Research’s (AGB) report.
SBS’ romance action series “City Hunter” came next, yielding average marks of 12.25 percent and 12.5 percent on TNmS’ and AGB's surveys, respectively.
Starring Lee Min-ho, Park Min-young and Kim Sang-joong, the show tells the story of a young man trained by his foster father to seek personal revenge against corrupt politicians involved with his birth father's death.
KBS' “Romance Town,” which is another romantic comedy, marked average viewership ratings of 9.1 percent and 10.5 percent on TNmS and AGB’s polls, respectively, coming last on the primetime slot for the fourth week in-a-row this week.
Starring Jung Gyu-woon and Sung Yu-ri, the story portrays the love between a son of a conglomerate and his young housemaid amid other diverse rich and poor characters that surround them.
