New MBC series “Miss Ripley” came atop the Mondays and Tuesdays primetime TV slot on the first week of its premiere, revealed two media research companies on Wednesday.
“Miss Ripley,” about a story of lie and its consequences, came first among other primetime competitors after posting an average viewership rating of 11.6 percent on Total National Multimedia Statistics’ (TNmS) chart and 13.7 percent on AGB Nielsen Media Research’s (AGB) poll.
Starring Lee Da-hae, Kim Seung-woo, Kang Hye-jung and Park Yuchun, "Miss Ripley" is about a woman from a low class life who tries to climb up the social ladder by lying about her background while two men fall hopelessly in love with her in the process.
KBS drama “Babyfaced Beauty” starring Jang Nara, Choi Daniel and Ryu Jin, placed at No. 2, marking average viewership ratings of 11.4 percent and 11.7 percent on TNmS’ survey and AGB’s report, respectively.
The drama tells the story of a 34-year-old single woman who fakes her age to get a job in a textile company and the love and trial she goes through by hiding her true self.
SBS' romantic comedy “Lie To Me” about lie and marriage scandal, finished last again with an average viewership rating of 8.35 percent on TNmS’ finding and 10.1 percent on AGB’s survey.
The show, led by Yoon Eun-hye and Kang Ji-hwan, is also about a thoughtless lie that blows out of proportion leaving the male and female leads rushing to fix up the mess.
