KBS drama “Smile Again” remained the winner on the TV chart for the 14th consecutive week, according to findings by two media research companies on Monday.
“Smile Again” was ranked No. 1 on two TV charts again, after marking an average viewership rating of 37 percent on Total National Multimedia Statistics’ (TNmS) survey and 38.8 percent on AGB Nielsen Media Research’s (AGB) poll.
The drama starring Ji Chang-wook, Do Ji-won and Oh Ji-eun, is a typical good-triumphs-over-evil story revolving around the life and love of a young cook named Dong-hae, a Korean-American who came to Korea in search of his real family.
Second place on the chart was occupied by KBS 9 clock News which climbed to second place after posting an average viewership rating of 20.5 percent, pushing back KBS weekend series “My Love My Family” which scored 19.9 percent, to the third spot, according to the estimates of TNmS.
“My Love My Family” starring Lee Jae-ryeong and Park Joo-mi, about the troubled love situation of four couples in one family had been holding onto the No. 2 spot for past six week-in-a-row.
However on AGB’s survey, it was the music reality show “MBC Star Audition” which collected a viewership rating of 21.3 percent to place it second on the chart.
The show which chooses survivors among singing contestants every week through viewers’ voting, has climbed six steps to reach its present position.
“My Love My Family” again landed at third with an average viewership rating of 20.6 percent.
Other shows that performed well last week included MBC drama “Twinkle Twinkle” and “Can You Hear My Heart,” SBS drama “New Giseaeng Story” and “49 Days” as well as variety shows “”Gag Concert,” “Happy Sunday” and “Infinite Challenge.”
