Boy band BEAST’s new Japanese single topped Japanese ringtone chart on the day of its release, reported their agency Cube Entertainment on Wednesday.
According to Cube, BEAST’s upcoming album “SHOCK” which was released as a ringtone yesterday prior to its official release in Japan on March 16, claimed the No.1 spot on the daily ringtone chart of Japan’s biggest mobile website RecoChoku.
“We can hardly wait to start our activity in Japan and are also proud to have our name posted on such a prestigious chart,” BEAST's members were quoted as saying in the statement.
Their comments also covers the performance of their DVD “Genesis of BEAST” which was released last week to reach fourth place on Japanese Oricon weekly chart.
BEAST composed of members Du-jun, Hyun-seung, Dong-woon, Gi-kwang, Yo-seop and Jun-hyung made their debut in October 2009 with their first mini-album “"BEAST IS THE B2ST" and has since produced hit songs such as “Bad Girl,” “Shock,” “Easy.” And “Soom.”
The group held their first showcase in Japan on November 27 last year titled "The Legend of Beast Vol. 1" which attracted over 10,000 fans and signaled their official debut the following month with their album “BEAST-Japan Premium Edition” which ranked No.6 on the prestigious Oricon daily chart upon its release on November 23.
