IU’s “The Story…” claims No.1 on Mnet chart

Female teenage singer IU’s new song “The Story Only I Didn't Know,” landed at No. 1 on cable music channel Mnet's singles chart during the week of February 14 to 20.

“The Story…” is a minor ballad song with a nostalgic melody, composed by singer Yoon Sang, from her third mini plus album “Real +” released on February 17.

Lee Hyun's “Best of Mine,” a ballad from his first EP album of the same name released on February 15, landed on second place.

In the third place once again was IU, with song “Cruel Fairy Tale,” also from her latest album “Real+” which incorporates a waltz rhythm and certain elements of story-telling, composed by electronic musician Saintbinary.

IU also triumphed in the albums’ chart, placed her latest album “Real +” on top of the list.

The special album is composed of three songs including “The Story...” “Cruel Fairy Tale,” and "The Story…” in jazz piano version.

The original soundtrack to KBS teenage idol drama “Dream High,” released on February 14, reached No.2 on the chart.

The album includes main theme song to the drama also titled "Dream High" and “My Valentine (feat. Park Jin-young)” by Taecyeon (2PM), “Someday” by IU, “Maybe” by Sun (Wonder Girls) and “Winter Child” by Suzy (miss A).

Meanwhile G-Dragon and T.O.P.’s first album “GD&T.O.P,” which was the previous winner of the chart, was pushed back two steps to land in the third place last week.

The album which was released in late December of last year is by the duo unit from the group Big Bang, composed of double title tracks “HIGH HIGH” and OH YEAH,” and other hip-hop numbers.
