Korean male idol Mir from MBLAQ has been hospitalized due to a back injury, according to his agency J.Tune Entertainment on Tuesday.

"Mir was taken into the hospital late last night because a back injury he has had for a while has worsened and will undergo tests today,” a PR official from J.Tune explained to 10Asia over the phone. “He has always complained about his back and has been receiving treatment since while being advised not to exaggerate any of his movements since it may cause further damage.”

When asked how he got injured, the official said that Mir's condition aggravated after he belly danced on a recording for an entertainment program.

She then added the agency is discussing on whether Mir will continue to join his group in promoting their title track "Stay" from their first full-length album "BLAQ Style." "Nothing has been decided yet but if Mir does not recover, the boys will promote the song as a quartet."

Mir made his debut in the five-member boy band MBLAQ (Music Boys Live in Absolute Quality) in 2009 with their single album "JUST BLAQ." They followed it up with their second single "Y" in May 2009.

The group has been promoting "BLAQ Style" since early last month and are set to release their repackaged album at the end of the month.
